The Square Peg reviews…Bamboo socks

#AD #gifted Disclaimer:- We were gifted some socks and pants from the Sock Shop UK to review. The words, pictures and opinions are our own.

Does your child get really irritated by certain clothes? Do they like to walk around all day with bare feet? The clothing labels, the buttons, the seams and the textures can all cause annoyance when you have Sensory Processing Disorder ( a condition that is linked to autism where the brain and the nervous system struggle to process sensory information.)

Now this is where the Sock Shop UK come in. You can check out their website here https://www.sockshop.co.uk/

The Sock Shop began in 1983 by Sophie Mirman and Richard P Ross. Their socks and other types of underwear are produced from their factory in Bolton in the UK. They are a member of the Ethical Trading Initiaitive so this means that their workers and suppliers are treated and paid fairly, so naturally that wins points for me.

They have recently brought out a range of bamboo socks and underwear. These are made with natural bamboo fibres so they are incredibly soft. Knowing that there are a lot of parents struggling to get their kids to wear socks on a daily basis, I jumped at the chance to review some of their bamboo socks.

The Sock Shop kindly gifted us with some socks for the boys and I recieved a pair of bamboo pants and some trainer socks to trial.

Some socks that will be ideal for school

As soon as the socks arrived we immediately started investigating them, noticing the super softness and checking out the toe seams. My boys wore these socks all day, Edward didn’t pass an opinion on them but to quote from Matthew ‘It feels like I’m not wearing any socks!’

Not just grey socks available but a huge range of bright colours too.

I absolutely love the trainer socks that I had to review. Again they feel incredibly soft and are really comfortable to wear in a pair of trainers. The first day that I wore them, I did an awful lot of walking and when I took my trainers off at the end of the day my feet were NOT hot and sweaty. I also wore them when I went camping, (except for some bizarre reason I was only wearing one bamboo sock and the other was an ordinary trainer sock.) As I was putting my tent up and was popping in and out of it, my ordinary sock kept getting grass stuck to it but the bamboo sock didn’t. I remember thinking that these are great for camping as you won’t keep walking grass inside the tent! Another win for me!

My trainer socks

As you will see in one of the photos at the top, I have also recieved a pair of bamboo pants. Again, they are incredibly soft and feel really comfortable on the bottom. I’m afraid there is no photographic evidence of this so you’ll have to take my word for it….lol.

So if you or your child has a problem with certain socks then this bamboo range from Sock Shop UK are most definitely worth a try. If you fancy trying them out then use the code SquarePeg10 for 10% discount!
