A Lockdown Half Term with the Square Peg.
I’ve been trying to write this post since half term, but I’m really struggling with inspiration (or lack of) so I thought I would just write how I’m feeling.
Normally, Edward gets up to loads of different stuff during school holidays. We love to spend a lot of time outdoors visiting places, but this year we couldn’t go anywhere.
Both my husband and I are key workers in this pandemic so Matthew and Edward have had to keep going to school. So there hasn’t been a drastic change of routine for them.
Two years ago, I wrote a post about a February half term holiday with the Square Peg. We did so many different things. Compare that post with this post here.
I’m not saying that this half term has been rubbish, we have totally needed to rest from school and screen time. But nothing much has happened and it has mostly involved lazing about on sofas under blankets.
However, Edward has had loads of fun rampaging around the house. Making Lego tanks and leaving tiny bits of Lego all over the house. He made a marble run to launch them across the stairs.
We have trialled a weighted blanket to help Edward sleep better, the trial was successful so we bought one ourselves. See my previous post about the weighted blanket trial.
We went out for local walks. Edward had great fun scootering around the town.
There we have it, the most non-exciting half term ever. Hoping to get some writing inspiration back soon. I’m sure it’s the pandemic taking it’s toll and as restrictions (hopefully) start to ease I will find more to write about.
