The Square Peg checks out….Langstone Manor Holiday Park
During the first week of the summer holidays, we spent one night camping at Langstone Manor Holiday Park. This was at the start of Matthew’s (Edward’s older brother) and Daddy’s Westcountry Way cycling adventure, from Plymouth to Minehead. Edward and I weren’t cycling, so we were in the support van.

Matthew and Daddy started out around 3 pm so Edward and I drove to Langstone Manor to set up camp for the first night.

Langstone Manor Holiday park is on Dartmoor National Park near Tavistock in Devon. We arrived around 4.30-5pm and checked into the reception. The owners were extremely friendly and welcoming. The reception also has a little shop selling essentials such as chocolate and wine, ( the owner said that he’d been told by his wife that these are essential items, I totally agreed!) They also have a small bakery and you can order freshly baked croissants and baguettes.
The facilities are fabulous and spotlessly clean. There is a large toilet/shower block, disabled toilet, indoor washing up and a launderette.
We were shown to our pitch which was flat with a picnic bench. The tent pitches are staggered going downhill and we were at the top. So I then set about pitching our drive away awning. Obviously, this was done all by myself as Edward wasn’t interested in helping me in the slightest, except to repeatedly shout ‘Pump it up Mummy!’
Fortunately the weather was wonderful, so Edward was living his best life, running around outside pretending a twig is a spaceship!
I would have loved to have spent more that one night here so that we could sample the restaurant and the bakery delights. We will be returning!
